- They should allow the trailer to make a 90 degree or more turn in relation to the towing vehicle.
- They should ground the electric charge (static electricity) that is accumulated in the vehicle while driving.
- They should prevent a 90 degrees angle (the letter “L”) between the towing vehicle and the trailer.
- Their links should be at least 12 mm thick.
